Sorry people, I was “missing” for several days. I was busying preparing for my traumatology and orthopedics final examination. We finally finished this exam, the 2nd one of this semester today. We left 4 more to go. Still have a lot right? Our semester will finish in 1 month times, and after that will be exam session.
After that, my travel mates and I will go for London for 5 or 6 days short summer vacations. Not confirmed yet, but is under control. Just like what my dad said, everything is under control. Hehe, actually this is handled by my dad. We hope everything will be fine.
For pass 6 days, we have extreme medicine rotation. It is subject that study severe cases, EXTREME cases. For example, injuries of greater vessels, which remain me of Asada Sensei in TMD (Team Medical Dragon) who perform repairs of abdominal aorta. We also study about thoracic trauma, why it is classified into EXTREME? Because most of the vital organs are located in there, and this again remain me of Asada Sensei in TMD (by the way, he is thoracic surgeon), who perform emergency treatment for his scrub nurse Miki, bilateral tension pneumothorax, and also on cardiorrhexis and cardiac tamponade.
Forget about TMD, =P. We also study about management for Nuclear Explosion patients. One of our group mate, said in our home country, we don’t have any nuclear plant so this topic will not be very important. While another group mate said, if there is Nuclear Explosion in our home country, we might be the only team of doctor who know how to treat. Hoho… anyway, a survival rate for nuclear explosion patient is extremely LOW.
What else? Shock and crush syndrome are also covered during this rotation. 7.8 degree of earth quake which happened in one of the city in China cause lots of deaths and injuries. Lots of buildings are destroyed and humans’ beings are buried under them. And this condition, crush syndrome will occur for sure! Management of this patients are quite easy but got to be very careful. A simple mistake might cause death of patient!
I love this subjects, because it is very EXTREME!! Hohoho..
Okay, is time to sleep right now, bye bye..
