Happy Birthday Adeline and Happy 2nd Anniversary.

Today it is Adeline’s birthday, we just make it simply and traditional. Early in the morning, i woke up and boiled eggs and make them into red for her. While for lunch, I cooked Chicken Soup with ‘Long-life mee’, in foochow it is believed that you’ll live long after eat that kind of mee, but I replaced it with Japanese ShoMee because my long-life mee finished.

While for dinner, it was planned that we will have our dinner at “Three Oceans” where their is pioneer Japanese Restaurant in Kursk. But last minute, we cancelled it because eating at there might consumed more than 2 hours due to their long preparation time. Without second thought, I straight went to the frigde and took out the ingredients for dinner. With the help of Colley, we managed to prepare the dinner in 2 hours time! Colley said she is proud of her performance~~~

We have hot n’ sour soup, sweet n’ sour pork, mixed vege, sushi, fruit punch, steamed fish, grill chicken and 2 cakes.

The cake was baked by me, but the words are written by Adeline, she said my handwriting is ugly.

This cake prepared by me too, and this time the words were curved by me. It is from agar-agar. Both cakes are orange cake, I used fresh orange as flavour, put in everything and blend.

That is what the simple dinner is. We finished our dinner at 8pm. Pretty much food left over.

Another important thing which happened on this date 2 years back was….

It is very clear that, it is the Burn Scar!! Which caused by..

I’m not that stupid or brave put my forearms to there, I’m not from ShaoLin. It is all because of!!!

The slippery floor!! I fly toward the stoves!~!!!!!!!

I had a very hard time during that period, my both forearms were burning and pain. It was diagnosed as 2nd degree burn! With the help of post-graduate doctor who was my neighbour last time, he cleaned the wound for me every night. He used alcohol!! to as antiseptic. Do you know how is the feel of alcohol getting into your flesh?? He asked me to tahan a bit, to prevent any infection. My left forearm was hit directly to the stove, and stove is more than 400 degree celcius! While my right forearm burned by the hot boiling water from the stove. Praise Lord that it burned my left forearm, but not right forearm, if not I will have difficulty in writing; and it doesn’t hit onto my face, if not I have to undergo plastic surgery, my face will be destroyed by it. Anyway, my wound totally closed within 1 and half month, it is pretty fast, because estimated need 2 and more months, thanks God for the healing~

Now the scars remain permenant, they said for guy the scars should be ok, and looks more MEN! ahaha. But I think hope that they will dissapper 1 day, maybe 10 years? 15 years? The sensitivity over the burned areas were diminish! Sometimes, i might not feel anything… Maybe it is the post traumatic complication.

So, here I hope everyone who work in the kitchen, be careful!! Not only in kitchen, but everywhere, try to prevent the accident occur.

  7. Your cakes look delicious. I also know someone by the name of Adeline but she is a vegetarian and a medical student in Russia.

Oh, the burn must be a bad experience. Your scar reminds me of oil splattering on my face. I applied fresh aloe vera on my face immediately. The great news is that it leaves no mark. I have 3 pots of aloe vera now.
