All these while, when i went to visit patients on Saturday, the wards normally are empty (very few patients), in my mind that they maybe went for procedures or discharged. Today, when we went for patients visiting, several of our patients told us that can we come again on Monday, because they want to packing to go back home, then come back again on Monday. Wao.. This is really special! They are allowed to go back home on Sunday, it is so special compared to the hospital system in my home town.
So for those who don’t want to go back home, they can stay back in the wards and have rest in wards too. While those who are going back, they have to finish their procedures before they are allowed to go back home.
This system has pro and con, Pro is that hospital can save a lot for the expenses, while con is that patient might not follow the instructions given by doctors at home or they might spread some disease back home.
So how do you think about this system? Should we practice it at our home country?
Since almost half of the patients are going back home, nurses are busying tidying the rest area, refrigerators and so on. The one caught my full attention is that how a nurse clean the refrigerator. 1stly, she unplug the cable, then she put in a pail of HOT water and semi close the door. During the process, you can hear the ice dropping from the upper side. Less than 30 minutes, everything is done and the refrigerator is clean.
I don’t think this is good for refrigerator as it is prohibited in manual book. Am I right?
